Freedom Elementary School follows the protocols and recommendations of the NH Department of Health and Human Services. NH Dept of Health and Human Services recommend the following:
Identify ill students and staff as early and quickly as possible.
Send home any ill student and staff. They should stay at home until they have no fever (temperature greater than 100.0 degrees) for at least 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medication
Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have.
Freedom Elementary reports daily to the state regarding absenteeism. The following information is required: fevers greater than 100 degrees with either a cough or a sore throat.
Pediculosis (Head Lice)
New Policy: JLCAA Pediculosis
Welcome to school year 2014-2015.
Get your exercise, eat healthy and get your rest to stay well.
Step 1 Get a flu vaccine every 12 months
Step 2 Wash your hands often
Step 3 Cough and or sneeze into your elbow or a tissue
Step 4 Throw tissues in the garbage
Step 5 Stay home when you are sick
September Health Challenge: Eat more whole grain (Half of your grain intake should be whole grain).
October Health Challenge: Eat Breakfast.
November Health Challenge: Drink Water.
December Health Challenge: Switch a processed snack for a vegetable.
January Health Challenge: Switch a processed snack for a fruit.
February Health Challenge: Stretch Daily
March Health Challenge: Walk at least 5 minutes a day
April Health Challenge: Get adequate sleep.
May Health Challenge: Read food labels and take a portion size.
June Health Challenge: Go outside for 30 minutes (Use sunscreen).
July Health Challenge: Combine 2 previous health challenges
August Health Challenge: Do something physical (play tag, ride your bike, play tennis).
